Located on the west side of Bayliss Road in Section 230 that was owned by James Brown who also ran a store at this location from 1853 to 1856.

In March 1862 James Brown purchased that part of section 230 comprising 2 acres or thereabouts originally granted to James Hamilton in 1839. The land measured 210 feet deep by 420 feet on the Government Road located starting 315 feet south of the corner of Little Road.

A public meeting concerning the costs and lack of availability of labor for the farmers of the district was held at the Victoria and Napoleon Inn in July 1861.
